Certified translation from/to English
is a translation that may only be made by a translator appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic under Act No. 382/2004 on expert witnesses, interpreters and translators, amending certain acts, as amended, registered on the Register of Experts, Interpreters and Translators maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. The individual pages of a certified translation must be numbered sequentially and bound together with the translated document with a tricolour cord. The free ends of the cord are covered with a sticker, which the translator seals his or her official stamp. The written translation consists of the introductory part headed “Translation”, the annexes and the translator’s statement.
A potential client should deliver the original document, which will be bound together with the translation, personally or by a postal service.
The completed certified translation may be handed over to the client personally or delivered by a postal service.
The certified translator makes out a bill for a certified translation, which is an accounting document in accordance with special legislation.
Non-certified translations
The source document may be delivered personally, by a postal service or via e-mail. The translation will be delivered to the client via e-mail and does not bear any official stamp. The translator makes out an invoice for a non-certified translation.
